A 58-year-old Chinese national, who was diagnosed with an advanced stage of colon cancer, said his health improved since he began practising qigong.
Zhao Jifeng has been practising the ancient Chinese healthcare system that integrates exercise and breathing techniques for 24 years.
He will relate his experience in a public talk entitled Cancer Does Not Mean Death on Dec 9 at Foon Yew High School, Johor Baru, at 7.30pm.
The event is organised by Persatuan Guolin Qigong Malaysia.
Its president, James Loo, said the aim of the talk was to spread an awareness on the ancient system which balances the energies of the organs and functions of the body.
"Zhao, a qualified senior qigong master, is also a certified Chinese physician.
"Zhao has been conducting lessons in hospitals and parks in China, and reaches out to students worldwide through lessons posted on his website," Loo said.
