Guolin Qigong demonstration
at Putra-Makna Run 2016
Mr. Eng Tian Pen, the Station Master of Guolin Qigong Titiwangsa Station, was invited by Cancer Resource and Education Centre (CaRE) of UPM to conduct Guolin Qigong demonstration in conjunction with Putra-Makna Run 2016 organised by Universiti Putra Malaysia. The event was held on 12 March 2016 at Stadium Universiti Putra Malaysia.
About twenty members took part in the demonstration. At first, Dr. Amir introduced Guolin Qigong to the CaRE participants. Then Mr. Eng Tian Pen led the members in performing Natural Walking Exercise, Step-Touch Exercise and Rising-Lowering-Opening-Closing Exercise. Dr. Abdullah, the Station Master of Guolin Qigong Tasik Cempaka Bangi Station, narrated the significance of each of the movements and the benefits of the different types of qigong exercises while the members were performing. Later the CaRE participants joined in the qigong exercises to have a feel of them.
The members also had the rare opportunity to meet Dato’ Seri Idris Jusoh, the Minister of Higher Education and had photos taken with him.
The Peer Support Group session provided both encouragement and hope for cancer survivors.
